Aymara Diablada mask. Diablada: The Triumph of Good. Quechua and Aymara miners in Bolivia seek control of their spiritual identity through the Diablada dance, in which an angel conquers demons. The Diablada figure represents Huari, which is the pre-Inka mountain spirit of strength and fire. National Museum of the American Indian (Smithsonian).

The Bring Back the Funk concert with George Clinton was easily one of my favorites ever!
The concert was high energy throughout, but Mary Griffin absolutely stole the show with her rendition of “Dr. Feelgood.”
Of course George had to shot out the Omegas with “Atomic Dog.”
The crowd demanded an encore, but host Tom Joyner informed the crowd that the Park Service wouldn’t extend the concert beyond the allotted time.
