The memorials in DC are some of my favorite architectural subjects to photograph.  I almost fell off the back to the Lincoln Memorial while composing this shot.  If you walk around to the back side there are very steep steps.  I was crouching down while slowly inching backwards to compose the shot properly.  All of a sudden I couldn’t feel the ground under my foot.  I immediately stood up and looked behind me to see at least a 10-15 foot drop with multiple marble steps between me and the ground.  Dodged a bullet that time!
